While AI has always run in the background, now it\u2019s become front and center, raising potential for efficiency and innovation \u2014 alongside concerns and frustrations. Employers who prioritize the intersection of human potential and technology will not only keep pace\u2014they\u2019ll lead.<\/p>\n<h2><span lang=\"EN\">Integrating a Human Touch in Talent Recruitment<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Tech tools were supposed to make it easier and more efficient to hire best-in-class talent. And yet, both talent and employers still face frustrations over applicant tracking systems (ATS) which are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jobscan.co\/blog\/fortune-500-use-applicant-tracking-systems\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">used by nearly all<\/a> Fortune 500 companies. LinkedIn and Reddit boards are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/csMajors\/comments\/1f8x5ma\/world_record_rejection\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">full of stories<\/a> from talent and recruiters alike, frustrated that the best talent can sometimes be overlooked, including a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibtimes.co.uk\/lazy-mediocre-hr-team-fired-after-managers-own-cv-gets-auto-rejected-seconds-exposing-system-1727202\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">viral story<\/a> of a manager whose own resume was rejected by the ATS, leading him to realize a code error was auto-rejecting all applicants.<\/p>\n<p>Relying on applicant tracking systems alone can also open employers to vulnerabilities: AI platforms can raise bias, fairness, and equity concerns, with one hiring platform even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hrdive.com\/news\/workday-ai-tools-discrimination-lawsuit-california\/721482\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">facing a lawsuit<\/a> alleging the platform\u2019s AI-based hiring tools are discriminatory. And candidates too, can use AI tools to enhance and tailor their resumes for positions they might not be qualified for: According to one 2023 survey conducted by resume services company Standout CV, nearly three-quarters of job candidates would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shrm.org\/topics-tools\/news\/technology\/how-to-spot-ai-generated-lies-on-a-resume\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">consider using AI tools<\/a> to \u201cembellish their resumes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To address these challenges, organizations should invest in hybrid recruitment models that blend AI efficiency with human oversight. This helps to ensure fairness, reduce errors, and align hiring practices with organizational values.<\/p>\n<h2><span lang=\"EN\">Having a Strong Tech POV for Maximum Results<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Generative AI has significantly disrupted and impacted creative work, from ideation to execution, and the results have hit mainstream conversation. For example, an AI-made update of a classic holiday Coca-Cola commercial <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/tech\/innovation\/coca-cola-causes-controversy-ai-made-ad-rcna180665\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">generated controversy<\/a>, and AI integration into the popular Spotify Wrapped has also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/12\/05\/style\/spotify-wrapped-2024.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">drawn mixed reactions.<\/a> Ultimately, the outcome still matters, and the most successful teams in the future will likely be the ones that can integrate AI tools to boost efficiency and innovation, while using a human touch to ensure projects align with core values.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s also the concern over \u201cnon-authorized AI use;\u201d Creatives who are bringing AI tools into the office without disclosure or approval, raising concerns over privacy, copyright, and more. One <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/worklab\/work-trend-index\/ai-at-work-is-here-now-comes-the-hard-part\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2024 report<\/a> published by LinkedIn and Microsoft found that 78% of workers \u2014 especially those at small and mid-size companies \u2014 are bringing their own AI tools into work, and more than half of them are reluctant to admit to using it, due to concerns that doing so might make them seem replaceable.<\/p>\n<p>Employers can mitigate these risks by developing clear guidelines on how and when AI tools should be used. This not only fosters transparency but also empowers employees to leverage AI responsibly for better results.<\/p>\n<h2><span lang=\"EN\">Building a Holistic Tech-Integrated Strategy for Everyday Tasks<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Tech tools can be invaluable \u2014 but it\u2019s key that all parties feel confident using them to enhance the KPIs and goals of the department. While AI potential has only increased, <a href=\"https:\/\/smallbiztrends.com\/salesforce-ai-adoption-survey-us-vs-global\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new data<\/a> from Slack\u2019s Workforce Index Study has found that there has been stagnation in AI adoption, partially due to lack of training.<\/p>\n<p>Marketing departments also face the problem of too much tech, not enough talent. One 2023 study found that marketers only use <a href=\"https:\/\/martech.org\/marketers-are-only-using-one-third-of-their-stacks-capability\/#:~:text=Stack%20utilization%20continues%20to%20drop,complexity%20and%20no%20one%20authority.&amp;text=Marketers%20are%20using%20only%20one,year%20and%2058%25%20in%202020.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">about one-third<\/a> of their stack, partially due to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.creativecircle.com\/blog\/maximizing-martech-harnessing-ai-and-human-talent-for-a-future-proof-strategy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">skills gap within their teams<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To bridge this divide, organizations can continue to prioritize ongoing training and bring in outside experts to maximize the stack.<\/p>\n<p>Looking forward, thoughtful tech adoption can parallel alongside robust talent development.
